In 2005, I began to sense that God was preparing me for something. I carried that feeling with me for a long time, never fully understanding exactly what God wanted me to do, but knowing that there was something in store. Little did I know that God was creating a desire in me that he would eventually turn into VIRTUE House. In 2006, my daughter began working for an organization that provides rehabilitation and hope to troubled young women. As my daughter became more heavily involved in their program, my husband and I began opening our home for the young women to come and enjoy activities away from their normal environment. It was during this season that God’s plan for VIRTUE House began to unfold. I began participating in a mentorship program with this organization, in which I would focus on pouring into the life of one young girl at a time. I discovered that even though these young ladies had come out of the juvenile court system and had struggled with addictions and vices I had never experienced in my own life, they really all longed for the same thing: the knowledge that someone in this world loves them and is willing to invest in them. In the process of mentoring girl after girl with this organization, I started to learn the path that many of these young women follow. In many cases, the young women would go through the rehab program and recover from their addictions and problems, and then go back home to the same neighborhoods, with the same friends and the same situations. The odds were already stacked against them to stay out of trouble. Many of them ended up in the same boat they were in before they started the program. I started to realize that these young women needed a safe place where they could transition into adulthood. Over the past couple of years my original vision for this ministry has come to fruition and we have been home to several young women in our community.  We have seen many positive changes in the lives of the women who have chosen to call VIRTUE House their home.  Many of them are leading very productive lives and continue to thrive and succeed. Some of them are continuing their education and are planning a professional career. We give all the glory to God for the successful transformations we have seen and continue to see in the residents of VIRTUE House.

Our vision remains the same. We will continue to serve women who are hurting.  As our ministry grows we would like to see more women utilize the services offered at VIRTUE House.

We are here to help these young women achieve Victory in life by learning to live with Integrity, instilling Responsibility, Truthfulness and Unity and a passion for Excellence in every aspect of life. We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity for the young women of our community, and we are equally as excited to provide the community with opportunities to bless others. Thank you for your interest in VIRTUE House, and we pray that your life will be impacted through this ministry.

Blessings,
